We read the story of Tiddler the Storytelling Fish. On Monday we wrote amazing stories about where Tiddler had been. Then we taught him how to tell the time. When Tiddler arrived we wrote signs to make sure we kept him safe.
Well done Jupiter Class for an amazing class assembly on Friday!!!!
We have been reading stories by Julia Donaldson. We enjoyed reading Jack and the Flum Flum Tree. Have a look at some of the exciting activities we have been doing!
We have been very busy making our own information books about a rainforest animal. We have learned to use Google to search for images and have copied and pasted into Word before printing. We had to choose interesting facts linked to diet, habitat and appearance of our chosen animal. We then wrote our own contents page and blurb and decided how we would like to decorate our front covers. We are very proud of our books!
Today we were practising following instructions to make monkeys. We have hung them from vines in our classroom. Tomorrow we will be writing instructions to teach others how to make a paper bag monkey!
We used watercolours and fine brushes to paint our backgrounds. We then layered oil pastels on the top and added a 3D animal. Come and have a look at the paintings in our classroom!
Thank you for all your fantastic entries to the ‘Get Caught Reading’ competition. We will be judging them tonight and the winners will be announced next week.
We are very excited about our new Rainforests topic! We have started to turn our classroom into a Rainforest. So far we have made butterflies, parrots, patterned snakes and have hung vines in our classroom.
This week we have been looking at 'Surprised!' by Henri Rousseau and have started to paint our own watercolour pictures in a similar style.
